Duration in general is the author’s life plus 50 years following the author's date of death.

Works Protected:

Written works; Works of fine arts whether drawing, photography, painting, engraving, sculpture, or decoration and works of like nature; Songs and musical works; Dramatic works; Photographic works and cinema and television films; All kinds of maps and manuscripts relating to geography, topography or science.

Limitations on Protection:

Works which have vested to public ownership; Official documents; Daily news or occurrences of like nature published in newspapers, magazines, periodicals, radio or television; Collections that contain parts or extracts of works formerly published.

Penalties:

The amount of the fine shall be fixed by the Court, taking into account the benefits which the defendant has gained from the violation.
